Emergence is a progressive/culturally astute worship service which boldly proclaims Christ and challenges its people to become a community that “Loves Jesus and Loves People” and as a result of life transformation then “Plows a Counter Culture.” At the core of emergence is a group of people who see themselves as a group of missionaries charged to engage in North Jersey– a culture which currently is remarkably similar to that of ancient Corinth - a pluralistic culture that offers a diverse market place of ideas, economic opportunity, vibrant arts community, and a metropolitan hub with impact on NYC, and in turn, all of the USA. As we simultaneously abide in Christ and engage the culture, we sense people’s brokenness and show them our Healer, we see other’s needs and endeavor to meet them, and we dream of creating a restorative counter culture that brings glory to God.
