Serving at Emergence
Every single day, we're reminded of a very simple fact: Emergence does not exist without faithful people sacrificing their time and effort to make it happen.
Emergence is a community of missionaries. None of this can or will work if the church is a place where people go to watch other people do ministry.
If you've been around emergence, you know we try to keep it simple. As Emergence grows, the temptation is there for the complexity to grow as well. Our hope is that never happens. When the church becomes too complicated, it takes people being at activities every day just to keep it going. The dream is to see people freed up--not at the church, but in their communities--being empowered to carry Jesus with them.
With that said, there are a few key areas where faithful people are needed in order to provide this place for worship--and to do it well.
Currently, we have nine teams:
| Setup Team | Responsible for physically setting up the room before Sunday AM services and resetting the room for Sunday evening services |
| Tech Team | Responsible for setup and operation of our tech systems for events. This includes audio, lighting and media |
| Greeting Team | Responsible for providing a friendly "first face" of Emergence when people enter events, distributing bulletins, and generally ensuring that things run smoothly |
| Cafe Team | Responsible for brewing coffee, preparation of the cafe area, setup and cleanup, as well as being a positive presence in the room |
| Worship Team | Responsible for preparing, rehearsing and leading people in the music portion of the services |
| Web/Media Team | Responsible for updating and maintaining the website as well as producing and editing media used in services. This would also include guest bloggers and content providers |
| Accounting Team | Responsible for accurate accounting and documenting of offerings as well as interfacing with Jacksonville Chapel staff for reporting |
| Small Group Leaders | Responsible for leading/facilitating small group meetings in their home or other host home. Small groups typically meet every other week in homes all throughout the area |
| Children's Ministry | Responsible for working with the children and parents of Emergence to pour into the lives of future generations. This team is currently forming for launch when Emergence moves to a new location |
| Nxt-Gen Ministry | Responsible for working with the Middle School/High School Students and parents of Emergence to pour into the lives of future generations. This team works with the shared youth ministry of Jacksonville Chapel |
No experience is necessary. All training will be provided.
