Thanks for checking out Emergence.
Chances are, if you're reading this, you might not be the typical "church person". You may not even consider yourself a "Christian". That's alright with us. If you're here, there's obviously something bringing you here. Whatever that may be, we are glad you listened.
If you ask us what we're all about, the answer is simple: loving Jesus and loving people. Pretty radical, huh? We think that's what the church should be about. We do, however, understand that "church" in our culture means many other things to people. In many respects, the church has become a place that promotes what it is not about as opposed to what it is about. Our hope is that when you come to visit or if you just listen in to some of the clips on this site, you'll hear loud and clear what we're about--and that you'll understand that we're all about Jesus.
If you're on the fence about coming or think you'll feel out of place, let us allay that fear. You can come in your jeans, wear whatever piercings you've got, refuse to do your hair, and even wear a hat. We're not so concerned about what you look like. In fact, if you come with your "Sunday best" you might even feel out of place.
What we're concerned about is Jesus. We think you might be, too. Otherwise you wouldn't have read this far.
